DAY 01: MAKASSAR – TORAJA (L, D)
Welcome to Makassar! Upon your morning arrival at Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar Airport, you will be transferred directly to the Toraja Highlands. The journey takes about 8 - 9 hours and offers picturesque views of the Bugis-Makassar traditional houses surrounded by limestone mountains and lush green rice fields. Lunch will be provided in Pare-pare, the second city after Makassar, featuring a variety of seafood. After lunch, the journey continues with a drive up to the Toraja Highlands. Along the way, there will be a coffee/tea break at Puncak Lakawan, where you can enjoy the beautiful and cool mountain atmosphere. Arrive in Tana Toraja in the late afternoon. Check-in at the hotel, dinner at a local restaurant, and free time.
DAY 02: TANA TORAJA (B, L, D)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will embark on a cultural exploration of the unique traditions and customs of the Toraja people. Visit Lemo Village, a village and burial site carved into the mountain with rows of statues in front of the graves. Then, proceed to Suaya Village, a place where infants without teeth are buried in large tree trunk holes. Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant. Continue the tour to Kate’-Kesu’ Village, where you can see a row of traditional Torajan houses (Tongkonan) and rice barns, as well as a center for Toraja souvenirs. Next, visit Londa Village, known for its cave where Toraja people used it as an early burial site. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner at a local restaurant and free time.
DAY 03: AIRPORT TRANSFER (B, L)
After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, prepare to leave Toraja. Head to the airport with a stop for lunch at a local restaurant in Pare-pare. The tour concludes.
