DAY-01: MEDAN – BOHOROK/BUKIT LAWANG
Welcome to Medan! Arrive at Kuala Namu International Airport. Greet and proceed for a short Medan City tour. On the first City Tour, we will visit Maimun Palace, the capital of the province and a commercial city. Afterward, the roads lead west through vast rubber and oil palm plantation to Bukit Lawang; the orang utan rehabilitation center, which was established in 1973. Then, upon arrival in Bukit Lawang, crossing the river on a hanging cable plank bridge to the hotel for lunch. After lunch, a rocky path leads to a bend in the river crossing by a cable and pulley-driven dug-out canoe to reach the station of the Orangutan rehabilitation center. Besides, a quite steep trail through the forest leads to a feeding platform where the orangutans are fed their twice-daily ration of bananas and milk. Also, watch the orangutan at the feeding site. Lastly, return to the hotel for accommodation and dinner.
DAY 02: BUKIT LAWANG
Firstly, we will visit Gunung Leuser National Park with a chance to observe various tropical plants including a tangle of enormous trees, twisting lianas, palms, ferns, and weird & wonderful flowers, and also wild animals. After that, a picnic lunch will be provided. Later in the late afternoon, return to Bukit Lawang. At the end of the day, go back to the hotel and have dinner.
DAY 03: BUKIT LAWANG/BOHOROK – TANGKAHAN
After breakfast, drive on the same road back to Binjai to proceed driving northward crisscrossing the main road passing rubber and oil palm plantations line either side of the highway interrupted by low-roofed traditional houses on high post to Tangkahan Rainforest, another entrance to Gunung Leuser National Park. Lunch is served en route. Lastly, accommodation and dinner at the lodge.
DAY 04: TANGKAHAN
Firstly, breakfast at the hotel. This day is available for an elephant ride to the surrounding rainforest with a chance to observe various tropical plants including a tangle of enormous trees, twisting lianas, palms, ferns, and weird & wonderful flowers, and to wild animals. This journey concludes floating on an inner tube streaming down the river. Picnic lunch is served. Accommodation and dinner at the lodge.
DAY 05: TANGKAHAN
Breakfast at the hotel. Another chance to have exploration to another part of the forest. Afterward, free program at own leisure. Lunch, dinner, and accommodation at the lodge.
DAY 06: HOTEL-AIRPORT
After breakfast, return to Medan. Arrival at Medan and lunch will be served at a local restaurant. If time is sufficient, transfer shopping to Medan Fair Plaza or Sun Plaza. Finally, proceed to the airport for the flight home.
